BOSTON, Massachusetts – May 5, 2016 – The Dartmouth Group, an Associa company, recently participated in Project Bread’s 48th Annual Walk For Hunger on May 01 at the Boston Common. The Dartmouth team surpassed its $1K goal and raised $1,435 to develop, fund, and facilitate much-needed programs that fight against the cycle of food insecurity in local communities.
Team members Amy Johnson and Kristen Allen joined the more than 40,000 participants who walked the 10-mile course along the Charles River.
“Giving back to the community not only supports local organizations, it brings our family of employees closer together as we work toward a common goal,” said Jim Stento, the president of The Dartmouth Group. “Hunger is a serious issue across the nation and I’m proud that our company is doing our part to fight against this epidemic.”
Since 1969, The Walk for Hunger has been a tradition in Massachusetts. Today, the Walk has become the country's oldest continual pledge walk and the largest one-day fundraiser focused on alleviating hunger, always the first Sunday in May.
